5.1 Audio Tool Kit Nominated for 2002 TEC Award!

Gold Line in association with PMI, have been jointly nominated for the 2002 Technical Excellence & Creativity Award (TEC Award) in the category of "Outstanding Technical Achievement, Ancillary Equipment", for the TK5.1 Audio Toolkit DVD.

The TEC Awards were established by Mix magazine in 1985 to honor outstanding achievement in the professional recording and production industry. The nominations are made by a panel of approximately 200 audio industry professionals.

With the widespread adoption of surround formats for audio, there was a need for a method to distribute test signals to all of the surround channels. The TK5.1 DVD provides a full tutorial, and over 90 tones and multichannel audio listening tracks to evaulate surround system performance for 5.1 Surround, including the new expanded EX Format.

The DVD is a technical solution to the universal problem of precisely routing signals to all channels in a consumer/professional surround system. 90+ test signals and multichannel tracks are laid out in a logical progression for quick calibration and debugging of 5.1 channel systems, including Surround EX. A tutorial provides specific information on use of the signals for system analysis/calibration. It has been positively reviewed in Mix, Stereophile and many other publications.

The DVD is distributed by Gold Line. More information on the 2002 TEC Awards is available online at www.tecawards.org, and information on the DVD is available on the 5.1 Tool Kit Page.
